Supervisors of the checklist will meet at the Brick Schoolhouse  to make changes and additions to the voter checklist.

The Supervisors of the Checklist will be meeting at the Brick Schoolhouse (town offices),  to make additions and corrections to the checklist. This is the last day before the primary election that voters can change their party affiliation.

The Town Buildings Committee (TBC) invites everyone to join a “walk-thru” of the Village buildings: the Old School House, the Town Hall, and the Library.

There will be at least two tour dates:
Friday, August 19 at 5:30 PM
Saturday, August 20 at 10 AM
Each tour will follow the same route so please choose only one date. More dates will be scheduled as needed. Please contact Lisa Sieverts at lsievert@yahoo.com or 603-762-0235 to reserve your spot. In addition, sign-up sheets will be available at Old Home Day and the Town Office in August.

The Committee wants to share both the challenges and the opportunities facing us as a town, so that there can be as much fruitful discussion as possible before the 2012 Town Meeting. During the tour, the TBC will point out the specific problems that need to be solved:

• wet ground and deteriorating supports under the Town Hall
• the 2nd floor of the School House and the Library Basement — unusable by the public because of ADA compliance
• the various furnace and insulation issues
• and many more fascinating items

The goal is to share information and collect questions and ideas so that the TBC can best serve you, the residents of Nelson.

Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session at the town offices in the Brick Schoolhouse on Tues., July 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., to register new voters and make other changes and additions to the voter list.

Supervisors of the Checklist will meet in the Brick Schoolhouse to make additions and corrections to the voter checklist.

We will be determining which voters will be getting “purge” letters and getting them ready to mail.
Every ten years, according to state statute, voters who have not voted in an election in the past
four years will be taken off the voter checklist.  This is even if we know that they live in town
and even if they registered to vote in September, but didn’t vote in November of this year.  They
will have to come and re-register to get back on the voter checklist once they have received the
letter.

“The Supervisors of the Checklist will be meeting  in the Town Office (Brick Schoolhouse).
The purpose of the meeting is to register new voters, make changes to the
checklist and deal with 30-day letters that have been sent out to people who
may have moved out of Nelson.
