Nelson School Performs Oliver Twist Friday, April 16

The students from Nelson School will be performing an original musical adaptation of Oliver Twist at Keene High School at 6:30 pm on Friday. Admission is free (donations gladly accepted). Oliver Twist is an original musical adaptation of the classic Dickens tale of the orphaned boy whose good and sturdy spirit support him through the difficult and exciting times of growing up in Victorian England.

The one hour performance is the culmination of a week long residency with Children’s Stage Adventures. The play was cast on Monday, rehearsals take place all week, and they will be production ready by Friday evening! Nelson School has worked with Children’s Stage Adventures in previous years and it is always amazing how much the students can learn in one week and what a good production they produce.

If you cannot attend the evening performance, please feel free to join us for the dress rehearsal at 10 am Friday at Keene High School.

Another Yummy Nelson School Pancake Breakfast!

This past Saturday, March 6, the Nelson School hosted a Pancake Breakfast to raise money for their 6th Grade Trip Fund. Charlie Lang was once again our Master Chef, whipping up his fabulous blueberry pancakes! We ended up making a profit of $314.91.

The Nelson School would like to thank all of you who were able to attend as well as our dedicated volunteers: Fallon Smith, Megan Schillemat, Angela Creasey, Lauren Lucas, Marcus Bean, Earl Creasey, Mark Bean, Linda Bean, Charlie Lang, Joy Birdsey, and Vicki Dowley.

Nelson School Opening BBQ Draws Crowd

Seventy-nine parents, teachers and children gathered at Nelson School Monday evening, September 14, to celebrate the new school year with a barbecue and open house. This was the second year for the BBQ and it looks like a great new tradition. The PTO provided the meat (and veggie alternatives), the school did the drinks, and families brought yummy desserts. After the meal everyone adjourned inside for the usual meet the teachers and see the classrooms.
