To Bee or Not To Bee

Nelson School Students will be competing in the 2010 SCRIPTS School Spelling Bee.
The public is invited to the opening session at the school on February 3rd at 1:00 PM.

Participants:

4th Graders – Chad Auclair, Sarah Cucchi, and Emma Scott
5th Grade – Bradley Auclair, Sydney Carlisle, and Tori Daigle
6th Grade – Marcus Bean. Lauren Lucas, and Megan Schillemat.

Students will compete in a double elimination spelling bee. Students will be tested on words from the SCRIPTS National Spelling Bee List in various word origins. First place winner will compete at the Keene Regional Bee on Saturday, March 13th. Runner-up will be responsible for taking the first place winners spot if they are unable to compete. State Bee is Saturday, March 20th.

    I would like to update all of you.
    Lauren Lucas won the bee yesterday and will represent Nelson School at the Regional Bee at the Keene Elks Lodge on Saturday, March 13th. Runner-up was Sydney Carlisle and Second Runner-Up was Sarah Cucchi. All of the spellers did an excellent job. The winning word in round 14 was “routine”.
