The Keene Rotary and the Nelson Police Department are offering scholarships to people who are pursuing college degrees, classes at technical schools and folks who need a course or two to improve their skills for better employment opportunities. The police department scholarship is specifically for students who have completed one or more years of college and could use some help in defraying college costs.
For more information about the Rotary scholarship, contact Peter Brnger at 358-3038 x 103, or go directly to the Keene Rotary Club’s website: www.keenerotary.org.
The money for the Nelson Police scholarship was raised at a golf tournament sponsored by the department last fall. Interested parties should contact Chief Richard Pratt at nelsonpolice@yahoo.com, or you can leave a message at the town office, to request more information.
In both cases, you will need to provide your personal information such as address, phone, e-mail address and a one-page description about why the financial assistance would be beneficial to you.
Please help spread the word to anyone you know who might benefit from these opportunities.
